EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – The January 24 EVSC meeting swore in a new resource officer, renovations at some schools, and the starting up of PTA programs.

President Kiefer swore in a new school resource officer. EVSC also put fewer plans in place for health insurance, from six now down to four.

Some contracts were awarded, and these contracts involved Highland Elementary School, Plaza Park School, Harrison High School, and the Culver Family Learning Center. Highland Elementary School is getting its flooring finished out in its lower level, while Plaza Park School is getting a chiller replacement. Also getting renovations is Harrison High School’s auditorium HVAC replacement, and Culver Family Learning Center is getting a HVAC upgrade.

Opening up a PTA program was a topic in the meeting. Reitz was the school this had plans to happen in, and it was also mentioned that Bosse allegedly doesn’t have a PTA program. Due to COVID-19 delays, it hasn’t been happening, but the goal is to have a PTA program up in Reitz at the beginning of the next school year. In fact, parents and whomever else is interested can come to the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-Day Saints on January 31 at 6:00 p.m. for a PTA meeting. The church is located on Covert Avenue.
