EVSC to receive $900,000 grant to help underperforming schools

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Several Evansville schools are getting a boost, thanks to a state grant.

The Department of Education awarded close to $7 million to 88 schools across the state for the next school year.

The money is aimed to help underperforming schools with extending learning time and helping retain educators.

The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation received $900,000 from the state.

It will go to help Lincoln School, Glenwood Leadership Academy and Caze Elementary School.
