Expansion in Owensboro Bringing Jobs


More jobs are coming to Owensboro as a smokeless tobacco company invests nearly $50 million into the Owensboro facility.

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin announced Swedish Match will create 36 full-time jobs with the addition of a 16,000 square foot production area; as well as an expansion of the current building.

The Owensboro facility currently employs 342 people. Last Fall, the company opened its new research and development wing.

Construction is expected to start in September and wrap up in July 2019.
