EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Since October 2019, three Evansville police officers have been involved in police action shootings.
In each of those circumstances, Evansville Police Department Administration has said their officers reacted the way their training has taught them to respond.
Detective Kenny Dutschke responded to a man with a bat at the Federal Building in August 2017.
He says he tried to stop Ricky Ard by using his taser, but it didn’t work.
Wednesday night at 10, in a Special Report entitled “A Life or Death Decision,” Eyewitness News will look at the training that law enforcement officers receive before they hit the streets, and how taking a life can affect the officer involved.
