Eyewitness News wins Edward R. Murrow National Award

INDIANA (WEHT) — Eyewitness News has won an Edward R. Murrow National Award.

Eyewitness News’ Lead Anchor and Managing Editor Brad Byrd and Chief Photographer John Simpson were recognized in the Excellence in Writing category for their story last year — The Reverend and The Politician.

Eyewitness News’ News Director Bob Freeman made the announcement Tuesday.

This story was among 4,600 entries to be picked for the award.

In the words of RTDNA Executive Director, Dan Shelley, “Winning a Murrow Award means that a news organization has provided exemplary public service to its viewers, listeners and readers”.
