ILLINOIS (WEHT) – A Facebook group is planning a boycott of Illinois gas stations.
This comes after Illinois residents’ frustration with a new law that will double the cost of gas taxes.
It’s an increase in taxes from 19 cents to 38 cents.

This is to help fund a $45 billion infrastructure plan.

The increase will rank Illinois the second highest in the nation in gas taxes- higher than both New York and California.

The new law is expected to go into effect on Monday.
