EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT)– Investigators are taking a closer look at warehouse fire that happened Wednesday in Evansville. Firefighters responded to a fire at Piranha Mobile Shredding and Recycling around 6:15 p.m Wednesday after alarms were triggered by the sprinkler system.

Once crews entered the warehouse, they found smoke throughout the building. Evansville fire officials say the fire started in a baler which was shut down and the power was disconnected. They were able to extinguish the fire with no structural damage happening to the warehouse.

Center Point Energy was called in to cut off power to the building. No injuries were reported.

Crews were able to put the fire out quickly after containing it to one machine. There was some smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
