Fire Crews Responding to Large Brush Fire Near St. Charles

US 62 is now open, according to authorities. Firefighters are still on scene and they are asking for everyone to avoid the area of 62 near Arrow Salvage


The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says US 62 in Hopkins County is blocked between KY 454 and KY 1687 in the St. Charles area due to a large brush fire.

The brush fire is reportedly along US 62 in the area of the 4200 block of Nortonville Rd. near Arrow Salvage.

Some homes in the area have been evacuated and the roadway has been blocked, according to KYTC.

The area is expected to be blocked for two hours and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Authorities in Hopkins County tell Eyewitness News there’s a large brush fire in the area of St. Charles.

Multiple fire departments are responding.

At this time, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is working to close Highway 62.

Authorities are asking everyone to avoid the area.
