Fire engulfs home in Wadesville

WADESVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Investigators are looking into what caused a late morning Wednesday fire that left a Posey County family homeless.

The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Oliver Road in Wadesville. Fire crews say when they arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and a portion of the house collapsed shortly after.

The family was home when the fire started but everyone escaped the home safely. No firefighters were injured. Crews from at least five fire departments spent more than two hours extinguishing the fire.
