Firefighters respond to house fire after neighbor calls for help


VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Firefighters responded to a fire at home in the 5900 block of Danville Drive Monday evening.

We’re told a neighbor saw black smoke and heard a crackling noise coming from the back of the home and called for help.

Authorities say no one was home but 3 adults and 2 kids live there.

Fire crews say the front of the home has smoke and water damage and the back bedroom is destroyed. They’re also searching for an urn of a family member.

The Red Cross has been called to assist the family.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
