OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – A first of its kind lab opens in Owensboro.
Officials cut the ribbon on the C-16 lab at Owensboro Medical Practice.
It will be used to perform more efficient cardiovascular surgeries, and it will be one-third of the cost of a similar procedure performed at a hospital.
Officials also say it will mean quicker recovery time for patients.
“The biggest difference here is the patient doesn’t have to go to the hospital, so we can do everything here. They come in and out. After the procedure, they can go home in one to two hours. They can walk out. That’s the big plus.”
Officials say they have been working to get a C-16 lab for 27 years.
