First responders receive AED’s in Pike County

Local News

PIKE COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – First responders in Pike County are now better equipped to help save lives.

Deaconess HeartSaver presented 18 AED’s on Wednesday.

They were handed out to the sheriff’s office along with police and fire departments.

In the past, Pike County first responders have worked with no AED’s.

They were donated by Jim and Carol Havens in memory of Carol’s grandparents, Frank and Eula Ficklin.

Frank and Eula grew up in Pike County.

Deaconess HeartSaver said it has distributed close to 380 AED’s to first responders in the region in the past five years.
