Flu season rages on in the Tri-State

(WEHT)- Despite experts warning that the peak of flu season is still weeks away, CVS released a report saying they’ve already received three times as many positive flu tests as they did in the last flu season.

Authorities say there are several reasons for the uptick in cases this winter, including an earlier start to the season and a vaccine that does not cover all the strains of flu found this season.

Medical experts still recommend getting a vaccine, which is a good match for the H1-N1 strain of influenza. Washing hands and covering coughs or sneezes are still good ways to prevent spreading the illness as well.
