Former Evansville TV Personality Says She’s Never Seen Devastation Like Harvey

Local News

A former Evansville TV personality and radio host is in the midst of the Houston flooding. Sarah Pepper, a morning radio DJ, has called Houston home for several years now.

She’s been covering the storm from the Mix 96.5 studios in downtown Houston.

Her mom chatted with Sarah via video. Sarah covered Hurricane Ike in 2008 but she said she’s never experienced devastation like this.

“It kind of hit me where there are going to be a lot of… a lot of sad stories that come out of this. The family that was taken out of their minivan, who was just trying to escape, was hard. The Houston police officer who drowned while he was rescuing people – that was hard. I think all of those stories, when you have a minute to sit and kind of take it all in, it makes it… it makes it real and it just kind of hits you all at once,” Sarah said.

Sarah was able to return to her home on Thursday. It sustained only minimal damage.
