Former Illinois state senator pleads guilty to accepting bribes

Illinois (WEHT) – A former Illinois state senator has pleaded guilty to accepting over $200,000 in bribes.

Martin Sandoval entered a plea in agreement with prosecutors during a hearing Tuesday.

Under the plea, Sandoval promises to cooperate with federal prosecutors in an ongoing corruption investigations.

This comes after more than a year of home and office raids against multiple democrats, several of whom have been charged.
