Former Posey County Sheriff’s Employee Arrested

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A 17 year employee of the Posey County Sheriff’s Office is accused of embezzlement.

42-year-old Trinity Tucker is charged with four counts of theft.

Indiana State Police say when Tom Latham took over as Posey County Sheriff in January, he noticed funds missing from the department so he asked for an audit. That audit showed $18,621.37 missing from 2015 – 2018.

Investigators say Tucker was in charge of collecting and depositing all of the money for the department during the time in question. According to court documents Tucker admitted taking the money to pay off her credit card debts. Those records also say Tucker told them she took more than $20,000, but she repaid about $2,000 before she was caught.

Tucker resigned from her job with the sheriff’s office in February. She has been arrested, booked into the Posey County Jail, and released on bond.
