Forty schools compete in archery tournament at USI

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Close to 1,000 students from Southern Indiana and Kentucky are trying to make their marks this weekend at the Screaming Eagle Arena.

Teams from over 40 schools are competing in an archery tournament. The event returned to USI Friday for the first time in 5 years.

Faculty members and students are helping with the tournament.

Archery has seen a huge surge in popularity over the years.

“I didn’t really know what archery was but he just told me to come to the practice and actually I just started to like it,” said Olivia Seibert, a junior at New Tech Institute.

The tournament continues Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
