Free Seminar to Promote ATV Safety

Local News

All terrain vehicles are a fun ride, but local experts say too many people don’t take precautions to be safe; and the consequences can be deadly.

11-year-old Kate Bruggenschmidt of Warrick County died in July of 2015 while riding an ATV.

The Play for Kate organization was created to honor Kate.

The Vanderburgh County Health Department, Deaconess and St. Mary’s are teaming up to offer a free seminar to promote ATV safety.

These classes are a “train the trainer” approach for law enforcement, teachers, fire departments, or other organizations.

After completing the training, these people will be certified to teach youth ATV safety.

The free training will be held January 17 and 18 at the Warrick County Central Services building on West Main Street in Boonville.
