Funeral arrangements set for one of three victims killed in Owensboro shooting

Funeral arrangements have been set for one of the victims of last week’s shooting in Owensboro.

Services for 35-year-old Robert Darian Smith, Jr., of Owensboro, are scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Noon at Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Smith, along with 43-year-old Jay Michael Sowders, 18-year-old Christopher Carie, and 35-year-old Carmen Vanegas were all found shot in the head at a home on Audubon Avenue last Thursday.

Vanegas survived and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Arnett Baines and Cylar Shemwell were arrested and charged with three counts of murder and one count of first-degree assault.

This is an ongoing investigation.
