OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – Contractors continue preparations to demolish Gabe’s Tower in Owensboro.

Owensboro assistant city manager, Nate Pagan, says a subcontractor is removing asbestos and other materials and will cut utilities from the tower.

City officials decided to tear the building down earlier this year after buying it from the previous owner, Bob Zimmerman. There were no redevelopment bids during its last effort to new use for the building.

Demolition of Gabe’s Tower in Owensboro could happen as soon as next month.
