KY Gov. Beshear discusses public education, teacher raises, in his State of the Commonwealth Address

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WEHT) — Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear delivered his first State of the Commonwealth Address in Frankfort on Tuesday.

Beshear outlined many of the issues facing Kentucky, including public education.

He said his “Education First Budget” would include a $2,000 raise for teachers.

Beshear also discussed the opioid crisis, and the Commonwealth’s lawsuits against manufacturers.

Beshear also outlined goals, including fully funding pensions, curbing the cost of insulin, ending surprise medical bills, and criminal justice reform.
