Governor races are biggest in Kentucky primary

Local News

KENTUCKY (WEHT) – It’s election day in the Bluegrass State and polls across Kentucky are set to close at 6 p.m. local time.

One of the big races for the primaries is the governor race.

Robert Goforth, Ike Lawrence, and William Woods are running against incumbent Republican Governor Matt Bevin.

The Democratic candidates include Andy Beshear, Adam Edelen, and Rocky Adkins.

Now, this year voter turnout is not expected to be big with around 12% voting.

Primaries are usually known for lower turnout.

Eyewitness News will start airing results when the polls close in Central Time.

If you witness election irregularities or possible election law violations, you’re encouraged to call 800-328-vote.
