Graduation rate in Indiana was 87%, education department says

INDIANAPOLIS,Ind. (WEHT) – The Indiana Department of Education released the 2019 state graduation rate Tuesday.

In 2019, Indiana’s graduation rate was 87.29 percent, and the non-waiver rate was 76.73 percent.

“Every day, school administrators and classroom teachers across our state dedicate themselves to academically preparing our students for success,” said State Superintendent Dr. Jennifer McCormick.

 “There is still work to be done, and the Department will continue to commit its resources to local districts, working together to ensure our children graduate prepared for life beyond high school.”

Here’s a look at some area schools graduation rates:

Signature School – 100%
Warrick County – 90.46%
EVSC –  81.09%
South Spencer – 91.15
North Spencer – 96.75
North Posey – 94.55
Mt. Vernon- 89.82
Pike County – 93.33
Tell City 90.55
Cannelton 62.50
Perry Central – 95.19
South Gibson 91.18
North Gibson – 92.03
East Gibson – 82.61
Jasper – 95.57
Southwest Dubois – 93.15
Southeast Dubois – 96.39
Northeast Dubois – 93.33
Evansville Catholic Diocese 97.39
