Group addresses concerns over proposed wind farms in Gibson, Posey counties

Local News

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – People interested in knowing more about those proposed wind farms in Posey and Gibson counties attended a meeting in Gibson County.

Last month, a group called “PoCowind.org” held a meeting over concerns about those wind farms in Posey County.

A group called “GibCowind.org” held a similar meeting at Gibson Southern High School.

The European energy company “E-on” wants to build wind turbines in parts of Posey and Gibson counties.

GibCo Wind has some concerns with the project.

“We’re not against wind energy. Our biggest concern with this project is the setbacks and property rights. It is 1,250 feet from homes, but that does not guarantee you 1,250 feet from your property lines.”

The wind development manager at E-on said he will address all concerns at a public meeting in the coming months.

More information can be found at PoCowind.org and GibCowind.org.
