EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A group of men certainly got a lot of attention on Evansville’s west side and that was their goal.
These men are part of what they call a Circumcision Protest Tour.
It’s a 16-day tour through the Midwest.
The group says they’re part of a human rights organization that wants to educate people about what they call a harmful act being performed on infants in America.
The group held signs and dressed in attention getting clothes in hopes of getting their message across.
“There’s no legitimate reason to continue doing the practice of circumcision. It’s very traumatic, it violates the boy’s right to his own body, and it causes a lifelong loss of an important body part. It’s just completely not consistent with modern medicine or modern ethics.”
Some drivers called 911, reporting that members of that group were beating on their car windows.
We haven’t heard if any arrests were made.
