Harlem Globetrotters bring their world tour to Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Ford Center will be filled with the sounds of hoops on Thursday night.

But this game is all for fun.

The world-renowned Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their world tour back to Evansville.

Some of the best players to ever dribble a basketball will show off their impressive talents.

This year’s tour, entitled “Pushing the Limits,” is all new, and promises to up the ante and create memorable new experiences for Globetrotters fans.

The Globetrotters are worldwide icons, representing 90-plus years of breaking down barriers, acts of goodwill and a commitment to fans that goes beyond the game.  

Abe Saperstein founded the team in 1926, and they played their first road game in Hinckley, Illinois, on Jan. 7, 1927.

Since then, the Globetrotters have entertained more than 148 million fans in 123 countries and territories worldwide, introducing many to the sport of basketball.

Game time is set for 7.
