EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — High school students in Evansville will take a break from the books Wednesday morning to experience the life of a refugee.

The simulation, called “Walk a Mile in my Shoes,” will divide Harrison High School students into family groups.

Each group will experience what it’s like to suddenly leave their home and live in a refugee camp.

A local grant helped pay for the simulation.

“Walk a Mile in my Shoes” begins at 8:30 at Harrison’s gym and football field.
