Hartford man arrested on attempted murder, rape, other charges

HARTFORD, Ky. (WEHT) — Ohio County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man on multiple charges Monday.

Deputies responded to Hall Lane after receiving a call from a woman who stated she had been assaulted.

At the scene, deputies found the woman with serious injuries. She told deputies she heard a 4-wheeler outside her home and when she went outside to see who it was, she was ambushed by her ex-boyfriend, Brian Damron. The woman had an active protective order against Damron.

Deputies say the woman was physically and sexually assaulted during her time with Damron, and she was eventually taken back to Damron’s home, where the abuse continued. Once was Damron was asleep, the victim escaped and called 911.

Damron was taken to the Ohio County Detention Center and is facing the following charges:

  • Murder- Domestic violence (Attempt)
  • Strangulation 1st Degree
  • Rape, 1st degree- Domestic Violence
  • Sodomy 1st degree- Domestic Violence
  • Kidnapping- Adult
  • Violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO
