The City of Hopkinsville and the Hopkinsville Police Department plan to close a 3-mile section of KY 507/Pilot Rock Road in eastern Christian County and western Todd County on Wednesday afternoon.
The closure of KY 507/Pilot Rock Road, from Monkey Norman Road in Christian County and extending eastward to Jones Road in Todd County, is to allow overflow parking for the funeral of Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham.
Officers from dozens of police agencies across the nation are expected to attend the funeral.
The closure, from approximately 1 p.m. to about 4 p.m. on Wednesday, is to provide overflow parking for the graveside service.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will provide message boards, and police will assist with traffic flow along a detour.
Drivers can expect to encounter traffic delays as the funeral procession moves along the route to the cemetery.
