Helping parents deal with stress

Evansville, IN (WEHT) An international expert on stress makes a stop in Evansville.

Charlene Richard is a social worker from Alberta, Canada.

She has teamed up with Youth First to put on a forum in Evansville specifically aimed at helping parents deal with stress. She says the seminar will focus on quick strategies of reducing fatigue.

We are specifically looking at non-traditional self care strategies, such as taking a bath or going to bed on time. Even though those are helpful, we are looking at providing specific strategies to help parents build resilience , and that will help them manage stress around parenting now.”

The event began at 6 p.m. Monday at the Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center on Lynch Road.
