The Henderson Board of Commissioners has approved a solar energy ordinance.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Henderson Board of Commissioners has approved a solar energy ordinance.

It would add solar energy to city and county resources.

The proposal, okayed in a meeting Tuesday night, now goes to the Planning Commission for approval.

Planning Commission Director Brian Bishop says several companies have shown interest in building solar farms in the county.

Bishop hopes to have a public hearing sometime in November.
