Henderson business feels snuffed out by construction on Highway 41

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Stateline fireworks feels snuffed out by road work on Highway 41.

What’s the store doing now with July 4th coming soon?

Stateline fireworks is boxed in, not only because of the road work on highway 41 restricting a left turn, but they also have a flooded Waterworks Road behind them.

The only way to get here is coming south on 41.

Construction season coincides with fireworks season.

The owner says that concrete median between north and south traffic is blocking some business.

The “Fix-For-41” project is expected to last through the summer.

This is the third summer of the three-year project, but it’s the first time Stateline has been this restricted.

“Last year wasn’t bad, the traffic was a little closer to us on our side of the road, versus on the north side of the road. So last year was a decent year. This year has been a little bit more of a slowdown. The restricted left-hand turns off Waterworks when northbound has restricted that.”

Coming from Henderson, you will need to go through the Cloverleaf at I-69 to come back south.

Leaving Stateline to go north, you’ll need to do a U-turn at Ellis Park.

Altogether, it’ll add a few more minutes on to your trip.

By this time next year all this should be wrapped up.
