Henderson City Commission approves occupational tax increase

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – People who work in Henderson need to get ready to dig a little deeper into their pockets.

The Henderson City Commission approved an occupational tax increase.

The tax is levied on anyone who works inside city limits.

The tax goes from 1.29% to 1.49%.

City officials estimate the increase will mean an extra $700,000 in tax revenue annually.

It takes effect January 1, 2020.
