HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office say an Indiana man was under the influence when his car crashed, flipped and went up in flames.

It happened on I-69 in Henderson County on Sunday morning.

When deputies arrived, they say the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies say the driver, 25-year-old Jared McPhearson, of Frankton, Indiana, got out of the vehicle before it caught on fire and was talking to bystanders.

According to deputies, when they spoke to McPhearson they say he was under the influence of alcohol.

Deputies say they couldn’t do field sobriety tests because McPhearson had a broken foot from the crash. He was taken to Memorial Hospital for his injuries.

This is still under investigation and McPhearson could face charges at a later time.
