Henderson County man dies as a result of being electrocuted

STEUBEN CO. Ind. (WEHT) – Thursday morning a Henderson County man, 29-year-old Cody Griffin died as a result of being electrocuted.

Police believe Griffin was doing contract work on the utility pole when the incident occurred.

Steuben County Sheriff’s Deputies along with other area First Responders were called to the area of SR 120 near CR 25 E in Jamestown Township in Steuben County, Indiana.

Upon arrival of the responding units, Griffin was found partially in a hole in the ground at the base of a utility pole and appeared to be deceased.

Emergency crews were unable to approach Griffin due to live wires being near the victim.

Once Northern Indiana Public Service Company officials were able to make the area safe, Griffin was recovered and identified.

The electrocution is under investigation.
