Henderson nursing home confirms COVID-19 case

Local News

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Regulatory attorney Marian Hayden has confirmed to Eyewitness News that a resident at Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center tested positive for COVID-19.

Hayden says the entire unit was isolated once the resident became symptomatic and that the facility is following health department guidelines for testing. An employee at the center tested positive for COVID-19 previously but Hayden says the employee was not a direct caregiver and is no longer COVID-19 positive.

The staff at the facility have been given masks and the staff working in that unit has been given personal protective equipment, according to Hayden who also says the facility has been screening residents twice a day for symptoms.

While the in-person visits are not allowed at the facility, except in limited circumstances, the facility says family and friends can still send postcards or call residents.
