EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Garvin Park is officially lit up for the holidays, and 2019 Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights is shining brightly for visitors.

All proceeds will fund therapy services at the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.

Venture into a holiday wonderland, lit up by thousands of tiny LED bulbs, and the spirit of giving.

“Come out and see the lights!”

There is a spirit of giving here, as people make their way through the sights and lights.

“To wrap the lights into it, you know, it’s just a great way to have the availability to maybe provide therapy to those who don’t have insurance,” said Andrew Osborne.

Take just one lap around the park and you help kids like Sam through Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.

Sam got to pull the lever which lit up this season’s display for the very first night.

“It was good!”

Here, you can hitch a ride with your family and friends, or you can hitch a ride on a horse and carriage.

“Also new this year, on Monday nights, through December 23, we’re going to have the Polar Bear Express,” said Vice President of Development for the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center Laura Terhune. “You can actually ride a limousine bus with Santa, have a story read to you as you view the lights.”

Last year, 61 displays greeted visitors. This year, there are 63.

“We have a toy manufacturing plant sponsored by Toyota. We have a penguin couple sponsored by the Metzger Park Zoo.”

That’s two more displays to help make a big difference this holiday season.

“Easter Seals has been life changing. Not just for him but for all of us. He wouldn’t be where he is without Easter Seals,” said Cheryl Crooks.

The cost is 7 dollars for a car of up to six people.

On Tuesday nights through December 17th, you can also get your picture taken with Santa and enjoy hot chocolate and Ritzy’s ice cream.
