Boonville fire ruled accidental

BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A fire in the 400 block of S. 4th Street in Boonville has been ruled an accident.

The fire likely started by an open flame from a lighter or cigarette, the fire department said.

The fire started in a couch, the department said.

BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The cause of a fire is under investigation in Warrick County.

Crews said the fire broke out Sunday evening in the 400 block of S. 4th Street. While firefighters were able to get the flames under control within about ten minutes, the fire chief told us the structure is still considered a total loss due to interior damage.

The homeowner and a dog who lived inside were able to make it out safely. No word yet on what caused the fire.
