The first week of high school school football is kicking off in the Tri-State. Week 1 of football also means the first edition of this year’s Home Team Friday Pep Rally.
Jake Boswell and Ron Rhodes woke up with the students of Hancock County High School bright and early.
After the students ate some donuts provided by Donut Bank, a group played a heated game of musical chairs.
Two football players also faced off in a football toss, after winning some preliminary rounds in front of the entire school.
A senior Volleyball player and Cross Country runner shared their excitement for the season that just started.
The volleyball team at Hancock County just finished their first few matches, with an upcoming tournament in Owensboro this weekend.
The Hornet cross country team will compete in their first race this weekend at a course in Madisonville.
The day finished with an absolute bang! The voice of the Hornets, Paul Kreisle made his picks for a few games around the Tri-State. He predicted Hancock County to defeat Grayson County in the home opener 28-7.
Athletic Dirctor Jeff Kessams left with a little less hair thanks to a great donation effort by the students. Hancock County High School collected 1,200 socks to donate to the Santa Clothes Club. That donation meant Kessams had to shave his head.
Teacher Mr. Schwindel also took a pie to the face to reward the students for their efforts.
