Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Some homeowners in Jimtown are on high alert after hearing complaints of someone stealing Halloween decorations from people’s yards.

It happened near the 600 block of East Florida Street.

Multiple homeowners have their Halloween spirit on full display from friendly ghosts to wicked witches.

People who live in the area say what thieves don’t see is the time and money put into making the night come alive.

“We do spend a lot of money on stuff like this. We like to have fun. This is what the whole thing is for. Halloween is fun you know. You got decorations. People dressing up. Kids going around trick or treating. Witches with motion detectors to scare the kids. You know and to steal from people you’re wrong for that.”

Some residents are still contemplating on putting out decorations due to the recent crimes.

While others say they have invested in cameras for their homes.
