Hopkins County family donates land for new elementary school

HANSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A Hopkins County family donated land for construction of a new elementary school in Hanson.

Hopkins County school officials said 12 acres was given to them by the Brown family of Hanson this week.

The land was valued at just under $1 million.

Board members said the Browns are good supporters of county schools and some family members were teachers in the past.

A timetable for construction is still undetermined.
