Hopkins County schools adding security measures

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – School safety is taking a step forward in Hopkins County as Madisonville North Hopkins and Hopkinsville Central high school will add new security measures this week.

The schools will roll out a new identification system for visitors requiring that all who enter the school during class hours will have their names checked against national databases of sexual offenders.

Visitors will also be screened for potential custody issues.

The new system will eventually roll out to other Hopkins County Schools.
