House deemed total loss after fire in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A family is getting help after their home is deemed a total loss following a fire in Evansville.

It happened in the 600 block of Columbia Street in Evansville.

Evansville Fire Department says the fire started in the back and worked its way up to the second floor. It caused fire, smoke and water damage to the house.

Fire officials say the home is a total loss.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The American Red Cross is helping the family.
