HPD: Two people arrested after bank bag robbery

Local News

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Two people are facing charges after police in Henderson say a bank bag containing $5,000 was stolen from a Cash Express employee.

On Friday, police responded to an 911 call about an armed robbery.

Police say a male pointed a gun at a female victim in the 1300 block of South Green Street.

Authorities say the victim just left the bank with the bank bag and was on the way to Cash Express where she works.

Police believe he took the bag and took off running towards the river.

We’re told a female suspect was parked waiting for the male suspect. Police say the driver was 32-year-old Farrah Smith, who was recently fired from Cash Express.

According to police, Smith knows when employees show up for work and knew the victim would be alone.

Police got a search warrant for the vehicle and found a bank bag and $5,000.

The passenger was 29-year-old Jerome Roberts. Both Roberts and Smith were arrested and booked in the Henderson County Detention Center.

They both are charged with robbery.
