Husband, wife die in head-on collision in Knox County, crash still under investigation

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – A husband and wife have died and another person has been injured in a head-on crash in Knox County.

The crash happened on State Road 159, north of Bicknell.
Indiana State Police say John Buck, 71, was driving his Jeep northbound on SR 159, near Brocksmith Road.

And Josh Roark, 27, was driving southbound on SR 159 approaching Brocksmith Road when for an unknown reason, he drove left of center and crashed into Buck’s vehicle head-on.

John Buck and his wife, Rita, 71, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Roark was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville where he is being treated for serious injuries.

State Road 159 was closed for about three hours while troopers investigated the crash.

This is an ongoing investigation.
