Illinois coronavirus cases surpass 5,000

Ill. (WEHT) – Governor J.B. Pritzker announced Monday the state of Illinois has 5,057 confirmed cases of COVID-19, a rise of 461 new cases.

There are 73 coronavirus-related deaths across the state of Illinois. An infant as well as a state employee are among those who have died.

There are still no positive cases in the Tri-State counties of Illinois.

Governor Pritzker additionally said the state is shipping out PPE to additional counties throughout Illinois after saying the state has made ‘significant additions’ to the supply of PPE. He said the government shipments he is requesting are still not fulfilling proper needs for the state.
