ILLINOIS (WEHT) – Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has signed a package of legislation to help protect law enforcement, first responders and road workers.
Included in that package is a bill that would strengthen Scott’s Law.
Since 2002, Scott’s Law has said drivers approaching a vehicle with their hazard lights on must slow down and move over.
The new bill law expands Scott’s Law to cover more workers and enhances penalties.
This bill will take effect immediately.
