Illinois Governor takes steps to expand broadband

ILLINOIS (WEHT) – Illinois Governor JB Pritzker takes the first steps in a major expansion of the state’s broadband network.

The governor has appointed a 25-member commission to oversee the $420-million project.

The general assembly approved the “Rebuild Illinois” Project” during its last legislative session.

The council will examine best practices in other states and explore ways to maximize the state’s investment.
