WHITE COUNTY, Ill. (WEHT) – A White County man is accused of setting a house on fire and then pushing his mother into the flames.

The White County Sheriff’s Office said 35-year-old Clayton Andrew Swanner has been charged.

911 services in the area said a woman reportedly had visible burns on her body and claimed her son pushed her into a fire after setting fire to the home himself.

The woman was later found in Crossville on Superior Lane with severe burns on a major portion of her body.

Deputies said the house had visible flames when they arrived and the house was full of smoke. Swanner was found walking down the road from the home a short time later.

He’s charged with aggravated domestic battery and is being held on no bond.
