FAIRFIELD, Ill. (WEHT) – A Fairfield pastor, whose words in front of the Illinois General Assembly upset some, wants to return to the state’s House of Representatives.

Cory Musgrave said he will run for the 109th State House seat.

Musgrave gained statewide attention earlier this year when he delivered a pro-life prayer in front of the House during the time the General Assembly was considering relaxing abortion restrictions.

That prayer prompted several members of the House to walk out of the chamber.

Incumbent Darren Bailey is not seeking re-election because he’s running for State Senate.

Musgrave will run as a Republican in the 2020 primary.
